Plovdiv by Chelsea Tao

05.08.2010

The next morning we climbed the Pirin mountain. Finally, we got to a place very near the top, exhausted...But the views are fantastic! Sunshine through the trees, wild flowers all around, and you can smell the soil after the rain, hear the sound of stream. Standing on the rock, looking out those mountains far away and around by smoke, I enjoyed all these moments.

After the close touch with the nature, we arrived at the culture center of Bulgaria——Plovdiv. In the first night, we cooked Chinese food(I hope you all enjoy it). I feel myself fall in love with this city when I walked through the center square occupied with variety of painting and jewelry stalls; when I stared at Mosque Djumaya with the mysterious holy song in a Friday afternoon; when we paid visits of so many churches, museums and the old city. I love this city, with its history of seven hills, just like the great Rome.

We interviewed many people on our travel in order to know more about Bulgaria. Though many of them complained about the government, do not satisfy with the life here now, I still see lots of good points. They are friendly, open-minded, they try to tell you what is happening here, try to accept the world and be tolerant to the history. It's obvious that many problems exist in this country because of the huge social change(it's just the same in China), but you can see changes and efforts. Many people try to make differences and be positive. That's what really important.

At last, I want to say thank you to Roumi and her family, I really enjoy the days here in your family. I like the pig stomach soup, the pepper, the soya source, the dishes we ate last night(I don't know the name), the cakes(with strawberry in the triangle) and so on(everything!). I like your family members, your grandparents(I stole a kiss from your grandma), your boy friend(don't worry I don't mean that "like") and his sister(I really like her, excellent woman). Thanks a million, say thank you to your family. It will be the most previous and unforgettable memory.
